The original work with the tank was part of a project to commemorate the creation of the 'Landship' in Lincoln. The community play was conceived with four partners with Shademakers providing costume, life size cavalry horse and rider puppets and the full scale representative tank. Initial input was our parade element which provided the community access but all the costume and structure were integrated as part of the stage performance within the arena of Lincoln Castle.

100 years since the Battle of the Somme, Green Fields Beyond presented the story of Lincoln 1916 when the women of the city worked as munitionettes making the world’s first tanks, while the men went to war.

Green Fields Beyond was an outdoor event and procession written by Louise Page, music by Nick Bicat and with visual design from Shademakers UK.
